Miscellaneous: Why Should the Wedding Ring Be Worn on the 4th Finger?
1. Firstly, show your palm, center finger bent inwards and put your hands together palm-to-palm, the middle finger back-to-back.
2. Secondly, place the other 4 fingers tip to tip.
3. Before following the instructions, take note that only 1 pair of fingers can split at each step.
4. Try separating your thumbs. The thumb represents your parents and they can separate because all humans eventually fall ill and die. Our parents will leave us one day.
5. Join your thumbs again. Separate your index fingers. The index finger represents your siblings and they too will leave us one day when they have their own families.
6. Join your index fingers. Next, open your little finger. It represents your children. Sooner or later, they will leave us when they have their own lives.
7. Now, join your little fingers. Now, try separating your fourth finger where the wedding ring is worn. You will find that it is difficult or cannot be separated at all. The fourth finger represents husband and wife, who will remain attached to each other for their whole lives.
8. In summary, the thumb represents your parents, the index finger represents your siblings, the middle finger represents yourself, the last finger represents your children and the fourth finger represents your partner.
